We have run this course since June 2002. It was such an overwhelming success, that we are offering it again for the 2010 runs, but in alternately LONDON and MANCHESTER locations. Please be aware that there are limited places available on each day, so don't be one of those people disappointed by booking too late. There is a generous refund policy (upto 7 days before course, FULL refund minus £6 admin charge), so don't worry about not being able to come at the last minute.

This is the FIRST course for communications & ethics & Medicolegal training for PACES.

It is a consultant led course, based in a lecture theatre, to give you the background information to fully prepare you for the communication skills station of the PACES exam. The course came about because it was obvious during clinical training of PACES candidates that they lacked this knowledge, whilst their actual interaction with the patient was okay.

All information is focussed to PACES relevant cases, with real case scenarios to highlight important points.

We will cover:

  • Issues regarding Consent
  • Issues regarding Confidentiality
  • Medico Legal Issues
  • Important National Guidelines in detail

with special sessions on:

  • How to break Bad News
  • How to conduct the Doctor Patient Interview

To enable you to attend, we have deliberately kept the course fee as low as possible, and hence lunch is NOT included (there are many cafe's and restaurants nearby), BUT morning and afternoon refreshments ARE included.
